HISTORICAL ARCHIVE

A warehouse is transformed into a foundation archive. It requires numerous shelves, cabinets, and storage units. How can we preserve the historic building without compromising its integrity or being intrusive with new functions?

We created low shelving with a masonry appearance. To give them lightness, they were illuminated with grazing lights that enhance the wall bricks, now revealed after the removal of the plaster that once covered them, through a measured architectural design approach.

At the entrance, the tap is reinvented as a holy water font, recalling the historical past and highlighted by the vestiges visible in the trapdoor below, reflecting the work of an architecture studio attentive to context.
