How do the external and internal elements of the Antiquarium work together to create a symbolic and immersive narrative of history?
A continuous base runs along the facade of the building, defining a symbolic and narrative architectural gesture. The stratigraphy of the plaster, graphically differentiated, recounts the memory of different eras, restoring their materiality and history. The entrance portal cuts through the masonry like a cut in the earth, creating a symbolic passageway that leads from the present to the past, allowing visitors to “enter time.” A monumental memorial stone, erected along the path, becomes an identifying landmark and point of reference. The interior space is divided into functional areas: at the reception, smart glasses offer direct and immersive interaction; on the upper floor, a perimeter exhibition route, modulated on a slight orography, guides visitors through a chronological sequence of archaeological finds.
